Bad Karma and Love Magick, What Gives?

What's the Deal About Karma and Love Spells Anyway?

I've now been offering my witchery publics for over a year now, and in that time I have gotten some common questions.

Tonight, let's talk about Love Spells... Specifically one question:

"I was told that I can't do love spells because it's controlling free will and I will ruin things and it will backfire on me and I will get bad karma for it... is this true?"

Well, tbh, yeah, it could. But it doesn't have to...

To begin, let's start at the top. The Thought, what is is that you are INTENDING to do?

Just in your head, or outloud, in one sentence, state your purpose.

"I'm doing this spell because ___________"'

Whatever it is, just say it and be honest with yourself.

Now, take a look at that statement. Are you trying to 'force', 'control', 'make', or 'bind'?

If so, check your intentions because these are all verbs of domination. You're seeking to force a situation by gaining control and guising it as a love spell. THIS will CERTAINLY get you into trouble.

See, Spirit, Universe, The One, Divine, Source.... all of this... 'IT' knows when you are not acting out of pure heart, because IT is YOU and YOU are IT. The old saying goes "You cannot Lie to God"... it's true... not because of god/dess or any other omnipotent being 'above' you... but because that Divinity is a part of you. Whatever you call it and where ever you think it comes from.

There are magicks in this world, ime, that can indeed overtake the will of a person. These people become akin to 'zombies' and no one wants a lover who can't feed themselves or bathe properly because they've had work done on them. Overtaking free will is possible, but it's literally nothing anybody wants on a meaninful level, is detrimental to the health and wellbeing of another human, and will certainly merit 'bad karma' for any who attempt it.

So...

Take a look at that thought again.

Does it pass the test?

Are you genuinely wanting to draw this person to you because you feel love for them and you want them to feel that love for you?

If so, the next question is this.

Are you going to be okay if this doesn't work?

We move into the Action part of spellwork... the physical element that you put into play.

Spells themselves are only the first drop in the energy that must be contributed to make these work.

I have cast over a thousand spells in the last year, with the majority of them being love spells. I would say 3/4 work to some degree... but a few never pan out at all. Ask yourself, are you prepared for that?

And if you are... are you also prepared to do the physical work it takes to maintain the spell? No, I'm not talking about praying every day for the rest of your life... I'm talking about love.

Are you certain enough in your heart that you can actually treat this person with love?

Those spells that do work often begin with a reconnection...I get these dazzling emails where people are so thrilled that their lovers came back... amazing stories of strange messages, meeting at random places, running into each other after years away... and then I watch them fail as I read the next emails coming back... people do love spells with me and then they go right back to their old habits of nitpicking and hurting their lovers...

I had someone tell me "Yes it worked... but I want them to beg me."

And now that's not really about love then, is it?

If you don't live in accordance with the vibration, you cannot maintain it. Just as you cannot paint a straight line unless you have a sturdy brush and steady hand, so it is with magick. Love spells can help create the conditions for love... but YOU have to maintain that love.

A spell is an opportunity to get your foot in the door... YOU have to work the job... ya dig?

For these reasons, either a fault in the actual intention, or a fault in the physical action will cause spellwork to 'backfire'. In my own practice, because I am not possibly able to know the truest intentions of every person who comes to me for love work, I always cast 'For the highest good' and by doing so, I acknowledge that although my client and I want this work to happen, we trust that if it should happen it will, and if not, we accept that too.

Love work is an important categorical element of magick, and can be done without affecting free will... THAT however, I shall save for another post!
